Michael Vick was suppose to be the Falcons savior. He had been clocked at running a 4.25 40 yard dash. He was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 30th round even though he hadn't played baseball since 8th grade. Then, it all came crashing down when he was jailed for dog fighting.
Enter Matt Ryan. He was picked 3rd overall in the 2008 NFL draft. His first throw was a 62 yard touchdown pass. At last we found our quarterback Falcons fans thought. He's now the golden boy in Atlanta after helping them storm out of the gates to start the season 6-0.
However lets not forget about the resurrection of Michael Vick. Some said he would never play QB again. There was even talk that a team would pick him up and put him at running back. Then he was signed by the Eagles to be Donovan McNabb's backup, and for a year he was. However McNabb was traded to the Redskins so that the Eagles could try to usher in the Kevin Kolb era. That era quickly ended as Kolb was knocked out of the first game of the season and in came Vick. Michael soon took over as the starting QB and never looked back.
Now lets come back to the year 2012, where Vick is a turnover machine and Matt Ryan is in discussion of being the best QB in the NFL. No one knows how much longer Vick can keep his job as starting QB. However I do no one thing. If Michael Vick doesn't win and play well against Atlanta he might never see the field as a starter again, but wouldn't it be a fitting end? After all he did to the city of Atlanta wouldn't it only be right for it to end there? Our is this only the beginning of the story?
