At 5-10 and 196 lbs, running back Ka'deem Carey is not the biggest back, but he runs with power. He also isn't the fastest, but yet he has ran for just over 1,700 yards and 17 TD's with one game to go. Ka'deem is a bowling ball of a running back that seems to always hit a strike as he has ran for over 100 yards in every game this season. So let's take a better look at this rumbling Wildcat.
Carey runs a 4.53 40 yard dash, which isn't exactly speeding, but he makes it up with his tough running. However, Ka'deem's biggest asset isn't his power, but his elusiveness. Specifically, his cutback ability which allows him to take 2 yard runs to 5 plus consistently. Also, he uses a physical spin move that, for a lack of a better term, digs into a defender like body punches in a fight. Carey also has a low center of gravity and has great balance.
Though, there's a lot of good that comes with Carey, nobody's perfect as he had a brush up with the law which caused him to miss the season opener versus Northern Arizona. Also, due to his speed, he's not going to run away from anybody. However, with his power and elusiveness he doesn't always have to.
Ka'deem Carey has enough skills to become a star in the NFL, however, with the way running backs are drafted now a days I wouldn't be shocked to see him fall to the second round. This Wildcat really reminds me of another 25, Lesean McCoy of the Philadelphia Eagles, who is also a great cutback runner. With a good combine and a clean slate from now on don't be shocked to see Ka'deem become the first running back off the boards if he chooses to forgo his final year of eligibility.
