The Clippers and the Celtics are in talks of making a blockbuster deal happen. However, Eric Bledsoe, a player that averages 6.7 PPG for his career, is stopping it from happening. So, my question is, just how good can John Wall's college back-up be?
Chris Paul is possibly the best PG in the NBA. However, he is a free agent and it's not guaranteed he will stay a Clipper. So, the Clips are left with only one insurance policy, Chris Paul's protégé, Eric Bledsoe. The Clippers have one problem with that though, they might have to sell him off for two former stars and a possibly disgruntled coach, with the names of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Doc Rivers.
So, if Bledsoe is holding up such a trade he must be pretty good, right? Well, in 20 minutes this season, he averaged 8.5 points per game and 3.1 assists per game. However, his per 36 minutes stats are 14.9 PPG and 5.4 APG. Eric could be a starter on another team, but is instead a microwave off the bench for Los Angeles. That's why he's so important for the Clippers, because if Paul leaves Clipperland, than Bledsoe might just be able to keep Lob City alive and the Clips in the playoffs.
