With Deron Williams in the market this year as the prize free agent, the rest of the players could be up for grabs. The likes of older veterans such as Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Jason Kidd, and Steve Nash are in the mix. With younger players such as Brook Lopez, Eric Gordon, and Kris Humphries available.
With the likes of these big name players on the marke,t I will name who they are most likely to sign with. Starting off with the most wanted free agent to the least.
Deron Williams is a 27 year old Point Guard who plays for the Brooklyn Nets. He's played 6 seasons in the league and his latest season was his first full one with the lowly Brooklyn Nets. With him averaging 21 points a game and 8.7 rebounds, nobody has questioned him being out of his prime. Also it has been reported that he does not plan on signing a player extension with the Nets. In that case don't be shocked if he signs a deal with the Dallas Mavericks and pairs up with Dirk Nowitzki.
Eric Gordon was traded from the Clippers to the Hornets in the Chris Paul trade. He's had an injury history, but it's expected that he will be back at full strength next season. A lot of people also expect a team to offer him a huge contract, possibly the Golden State Warriors and/or the Cleveland Cavaliers. Though he is a Restricted Free Agent... so don't expect him to be going any where and have a future tandem with Anthony Davis with the Hornets.
Brook Lopez at times appears to be an up and coming Center in a league where height is rare. At other times, he appears to be an injury prone big man who wont rebound. Expect him to be over payed but to remain a Net as they can't afford to lose any more talent after the loss of Deron Williams crushes Brooklyn.
Steve Nash has been loyal to the Suns after so many years with a lack of talent to get him to the finals even through the loss of Amare Stoudamire Now, expect him to finally leave to a team such as the Bulls or Knicks.
Kris Humphries for now is a Brooklyn Net, but after big money is thrown at the hated big man, the Nets will respond with the cash and he will remain a Net.
Kevin Garnett, the big man whose rejuvenated his career after a move to Center during a contract year now, will be back in Boston next year. Although Danny Ainge would probably rather let him walk.
Ray Allen, though he suffered through ankle injuries this season, don't expect that to effect his stroke. I predict he will end up going to the Heat as a replacement for Mike Miller.
Jason Kidd plays for the Dallas Maverick, however due to the addition or future addition of Deron Williams he becomes expendable. In that case, due to the injury of Derrick Rose, he has an open spot to slide into. Though he's not totally what the Bulls need because he doesn't provide the scoring punch that D-Rose does he provides a experienced point guard that can start until Rose makes his comeback I expect him to sign with the Bulls.
